Friday 9 February 2024 Lunar New Year - The Year of the Dragon In Rainbows class children have been learning all about Lunar New Year.

Friday 9 February 2024 Children's Mental Health Week This week children carried out activities to support their understanding of positive mental health. This year the theme is, "My voice matters'. Children discussed ways their voice can help bring about positive change and their proud moments.

Friday 9 February 2024 Six Nations Event This week we have also had a fantastic Six Nations Event organised by our PE Leader, Mrs Little. This was an intra-school competition ! Children in Year R carried out tag-rugby activities and children from Years 1-6 carried out planned fixtures.

Friday 9 February 2024 Computing Cub This term in computing club we have been exploring different tools within Purple Mash. It has been amazing to see children from all year groups come along to participate in the club and engage with activities such as animation, painting and using PowerPoint.

Tuesday 6 February 2024 Safer Internet Day On Tuesday we took part in the National Safer Internet Day. Our Digital Leaders carried out assemblies to both younger and older pupils and taught children how to keep safe online. Children then took part in activities in their classrooms that helped children to understand specific content such as oversharing online and how to keep personal information safe.

Friday 2 February 2024 Our School Library It was great to see Year 6 children enjoying choosing and reading books in our library this week. They also enjoyed scanning books using the library system. Year 6 could talk about all kinds of books that they find interesting and why. Non-fiction seems to be a particular favourite !

Friday 26 January 2024 Author Workshops and Reading Cafe This week we welcomed Karen Greaves to the school who is a local author. Karen carried out author workshops across the school and we also held our first reading cafe with parents and carers on Thursday afternoon. Thank you to all the parents that came along and thank you to the PTFA for also selling refreshments at the event. It was inspiring to listen to Karen and hear about becoming an author. Children also enjoyed the time spent reading with each other and talking about their books. Year 1 also enjoyed a trip out to Maidstone library to develop their love of reading even further!

Friday 19 January 2024 Careers Assembly with Dr Prince Dr Prince led a careers assembly about being a Doctor in the NHS and what inspired her to be a doctor growing up. Children really enjoyed listening and asked lots of relevant and interesting questions. Thank you to Dr Prince for coming into school to do this, there was excellent feedback from everyone.

Friday 19 January 2024 Year 3 Trip to Young Voices This week Year 3 had a fabulous trip to the O2 on Thursday evening to take part in the Young Voices choir. Young Voices is the largest children's choir in the world and listening to all the children singing together was an amazing experience.

Wednesday 10 January 2024 Forest Schools in EYFS Forest Schools is an extremely unique part of Offham Primary School and we are very lucky to have our own dedicated Forest School provision and fully trained Forest School Leaders.
